Bhishma Shares – My MukkaMaar Fellowship Experience

My journey with MukkaMaar is almost 4 years old. In these four years, I have seen a lot of changes in myself, as well as in my children. There is a change in my thought process, I realised that I am also a part of society, so like most people of society, I too did not believe in gender equality, or rather I used to believe, but I realized that I was wrong.

After joining MukkaMaar, I came to know the true definition of equality. And I think if everyone knows the true definition of equality then violence can never happen. If I talk about change in children, by the end of every year we are happy to see the change in girls’ self-confidence. But we are even happier when they realize that physical violence or sexual violence is not the only problem for girls. The problem is much bigger than this and women consider many problems as their responsibility. And many women feel that there cannot or should not be equality between men and women. And when the girls of MukkMaar say that they can do anything and can do it better than the boys, we feel happy.

Jab bacche humaare saath share karte hai ki unhone kuch class se seekha hua life mein istemaal kiya hai, tab mujhe bohot khushi hoti hai. Mere dimaag mein bohot saare thoughts aate hai, ki pehle yeh ladkiyan bilkul nahi bol paate the, ab class mein seekha hua life mein connect karke, apni baatein rakh rahe hai.
